Qatar Intercepts Majority of Iranian Drones in Early Morning Attack
The Qatari Defense Ministry stated that the strikes began at dawn and involved ten drones launched from Iran. Nine of the drones were neutralized by Qatari forces, while one landed harmlessly in an unpopulated location.
Officials emphasized that Qatar possesses the necessary resources and capabilities to defend its sovereignty and territory. The ministry urged residents and visitors to stay calm and follow official guidance.
Reports note that since Feb. 28, Iran has launched missiles and drones toward Israel and several Gulf countries hosting US military assets. Some of these attacks reportedly caused casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, including ports and residential buildings.
Tehran has stated that the strikes were carried out in response to a US–Israel military campaign against Iran, which officials claim resulted in hundreds of deaths, including the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military commanders.
